Etihad Airways-the heart of UAE

You know now what is Etihad Airways. When we cmae to this part of this world of Middle East,we had to come by Biman-the Airline fo Bangaldesh in 1981. Because there were no arline from UAE or Dubai(Emirates). I landed in the old Abu Dhabi Airport-a small airbase only the planes of HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultna Alnahyan-the former President of UAE-Itihad (United Arab Emirates) were landing.
It was a dark night when my plane from Bangladesh touched the ground of Bateen Airbase -manged by Gamco.
The airport was first opened in 1968 under the name Al Bateen Airport (AZI/OMAD) and was located in Abu Dhabi island/city, which can be seen here. Due to the development of the city, the airport was moved and re-opened in 1982 under its current name, the Abu Dhabi International Airport (ADIA). The new airport is located 32km (20 miles) south-east of the city, positioned at latitude 24º 41 (N), longitude 54º 67 (E).

My relatives were waiting on the ground to recieve me and one who had pass of the Airport(as he was an employee of IAL) entered in the security area as he was excited.
Since then I was dreaming that one day Abu Dhabi or UAE will have the Airlines. Then in 90's Duabi took the initiative with the help of Pakistan to launche its first airline-Emirates Air. The rest history you may know now.
After 2003- Abu Dhabi took its step to launche a new Airways-that is Etihad Airways.

Etihad Airways is the Abu Dhabi government's national airline of the UAE (United Arab Emirates), even though it owns the largest shares in Gulf Air. Etihad Airways launched its first flight to Beirut on Wednesday, November 12th, 2003, and has positioned itself as a luxury airlines.
